Guided day tour from Cambridge

Adult £74.00/Student £69.00/Child £64.00

Maximum 16 passengers

Visit the ancient home of British royalty, a stunning medieval castle, and one of the world's most prestigious university cities. On this tour we frequently see The Queen!

Windsor is an elegant town located on the River Thames upstream from London. Windsor Castle is an official residence of The Queen and her preferred weekend escape from Buckingham Palace in London. The castle acts more like a royal palace used for banquets and ceremonies especially when The Queen welcomes other Heads of State to Britain. It is also the home to St.George's Chapel which houses the tombs of ten of the most recent British kings and queens.

Oxford (the 'other place' according to Cambridge folk!) is famous worldwide for education. Like Cambridge, Oxford and its university have greatly influenced the country's history so no trip to Britain is complete without a peek at the 'dreaming spires' that dominate the city skyline and the fabulous college buildings that line the city streets below.

0800 Depart from central Cambridge for the journey to Oxford.

1000 On arrival in Oxford, there will be an hour of free time before the optional walking tour of the University district begins. Perk yourself up with a coffee in a local cafe or head immediately into the fabulous Ashmolean to browse one of the best museums in Britain. Afterwards join your guide who will explain all about the city, its remarkable history, and the innumerable famous people who have studied there. The tour will finish outside Christ Church College where Harry Potter was filmed. There will then be free time to perhaps enter a different college, visit one of the city's many other museums, the Botanic Gardens, or go punting on the river.
