TOURS RUN ALL YEAR ROUND

The old capital of the north, York is one of the most fascinating and most historic cities in Britain. The story of York is quite simply the story of England: 2000 years of history in one city.

York is one of the most important cities in British history with the Romans, Vikings and Normans all contributing to its rich heritage. With its distinctive northern character, the city is famous for its ancient wall that surrounds the city centre making it one of the largest walled cities in Europe. The wall encloses a maze of narrow, medieval streets lined with numerous wood-framed buildings.

February trips may coincide with the yearly Viking festival when the city is transformed into all things Viking. At other times the city's streets, exhibiting architecture across the ages, create one of the most atmospheric urban experiences in Britain.

NEXT TOUR DATE: 26th January 2025
