England's little brother, the principality of Wales could hardly be more different!
The people, especially in the north and west, speak the ancient Celtic language of Welsh. The country is sparsely populated and the scenery is of rural tranquility with verdant valleys and barren, rugged mountains. Take a train ride to the summit of Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in England & Wales, for spectacular views over the mountains of Snowdonia National Park.
Or head to the south of the country, to the pretty valley of the River Wye and the upland regions of the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons to spend a day on horseback exploring the remote bridleways and hill trails. No knowledge of horse riding is required! Experienced instructors will accompany the group. All horses speak Welsh and most speak English as a second language, they're well trained and used to special trails, it's the perfect way to explore the rural idyll of south Wales.
