| Chester |
| Chester
is one of the most important of Britain's historic cities.
It was founded as a Roman fort in 79AD during the reign of
the Emperor Vespasian. The city's four main roads, Eastgate,
Northgate, Watergate and Bridge, follow routes laid out almost
2,000 years ago. Today the city is surrounded by mighty medieval
walls enclosing a wealth of historic buildings including the
remarkable black and white wooden buildings of 16th century
Tudor times. |
| North
Wales |
| The
principality of Wales could not be more different to England
if it tried! The people, especially in the north and west,
speak the ancient Celtic language of Welsh. The country is
sparsely populated and the scenery is of rural tranquility
with rolling hills and mountains. This tour takes you to the
north of the country to the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia
National Park, home to the highest mountain in England &
Wales, Mount
Snowdon. |
