1-day guided tour to Salisbury Stonehenge & Avebury from Cambridge. Visit a market town with a cathedral to befit a capital and two of the world's oldest monuments.
Salisbury
Salisbury is an old, pretty market town located just 15 minutes to the south of Stonehenge. Salisbury Cathedral, perhaps the most harmonious of all British cathedrals, boasts the highest spire of any in the UK and, at its completion, was the world's highest medieval building. Housed in the cloisters of the cathedral is the best remaining original copy of Magna Carta.
Stonehenge & Avebury

Stonehenge is an awesome place of mystery and myth. It is at the centre of a complex boasting numerous burial chambers. It is believed to have been built 5000 years ago by Neolithic Man as a graveyard to their ancestors, but it also has a remarkable alignment with the seasons and the stars. Avebury, the world's largest stone circle, and Silbury Hill, Europe's largest man-made prehistoric hill, are our fascinating starting points for the day.
