The following terms & conditions are for public day tours, private day tours and transfers only.

Contract
By making a booking you will be accepting these booking terms and conditions on behalf of yourself and all other persons pursuant to the booking made by you.
Payment for public day tours
Payment is due before a tour commences in cash or by credit/debit card. Entry fees to attractions are not included unless otherwise stated. Payment may be made online, by telephone, or through an agent of Roots Travel.
Amendments to Bookings
Name changes can be made free-of-charge. Tour date changes can only be made if we are able to sell on your ticket for the tour you had originally booked for.
 Refunds - tour cancellation by passenger
 Tickets bought from a Roots' agent:
 Cancellations >28 days before departure = 20% fee
 Cancellations 14-28 days before departure = 50% fee
 Cancellations <14 days before departure = No refund
 Tickets bought by telephone, email or online:
 No refund

If we cancel the tour before departure we will refund all monies paid by you. We regret we cannot meet any expenses or losses you may incur as a result of any inconvenience suffered - you will not be entitled to any compensation for the loss of the tour (please see 'Insurance' below).
Departures
The departure time is stated on your ticket. It is the passenger's responsibility to arrive at the departure point on time. There are no refunds for late arrivals. There are no refunds for unforeseen circumstances, eg. delays due to heavy traffic, bad weather etc.
Travel Documentation
You must show your e-ticket to join a Roots' tour. You can print your e-ticket or show your e-ticket on a mobile phone or other electronic device. Student cards must be available for presentation to qualify for the student rate.
Insurance
You are advised to take out insurance to cover you in the event that you have to cancel your booking or to cover any expenses or losses arising from the cancellation of a tour made by us.
Payment for private tours & transfers
We require full payment no later than 7 days prior to departure to confirm a private tour or transfer. We accept payment by bank transfer, cash, credit and debit cards. Payment by credit/debit card incurs a 3% charge. We reserve the right to cancel a tour if full payment is not received by at least 7 days in advance of the tour.
Refunds / Cancellations for private tours & transfers
You must inform us in writing if you wish to cancel a tour or transfer. For cancellations made more than 7 days before departure you will receive a full refund of the monies you have paid less a £20 administration fee. Cancellations made within 7 days of departure incur the full fee. If we cancel a tour before departure we will refund all monies paid by you. You will not be entitled to any compensation for the loss of the tour, however, we will try to find alternative transport arrangements for you.
Passengers permitted to travel
Passengers must be at least 18 years old to travel alone on a tour. Under 18s are welcome to join a tour but they must be accompanied by an adult of 18 years old or over. Regrettably, passengers under 3 years old are not permitted on a Roots public day tour (see 'Travelling with children' below) but under-3s are permitted on private tours.
Travelling with children
Children must be at least 3 years old to travel on a Roots public day tour. Each child must have their own seat and be accompanied by an adult of at least 18 years old. We do not have child fares but children are entitled to the student rate. Please note that our tour buses have very little room for child buggies - we can only accept small collapsible buggies. You must inform us in advance that you will be bringing a buggy. If not, we cannot guarantee that there will be sufficient space.
Variation of Brochure / Alteration of tour
We reserve the right to vary the services described in our website and brochures. You have the right to cancel your booking without penalty should we vary the tour after you have made your booking, but before departure of the tour. The tour leader reserves the right to alter the itinerary during a tour to take into account weather conditions, roadworks, accidents, etc.
Behaviour
You are responsible for the conduct of all members of your group and you indemnify us against any liability for damage caused by you. We reserve the right to terminate the tour if behaviour is deemed to be unreasonable by our staff.
Complaints
You must immediately inform your driver-guide who will try to resolve your complaint. If this is not possible, please contact us within 14 days of your tour. We deal promptly with all correspondence relating to complaints.
